The Kindle is much better than the Sony Reader, which I found clumsy to use & hold (arthritic hands). I was attracted by being able to download books directly to the Kindle (which is fast & much easier than plugging into a PC) but the ease of handling, button positioning (particularly page turn buttons on both side edges) & comfortable rounded edges were a pleasant surprise. ebooks are a wonderful invention, they have given me back my pleasure in reading & the Kindle is the best reader!

The Kindle really is an amazing device. The time it takes for books to download is so small, and the battery life and charging time too. It is the perfect size and so easy to use also. I love the fact that you can download books on the kindle itself or you can do it wirelessly from your computer and deliver books to the kindle instantly. The technology is fascinating. The thing I love most is having all my books with me on such a portable device (would be great for travelling with holidays) and the books are very good value for money. It is also very good value for money as alot of other e readers are pretty pricey.
It did take a while to arrive because of how many people had pre ordered I guess, but it was well worth the wait and the product itself is brilliant!

Received my Kindle today, and I love it,already downloaded some old books that I like (HG Wells,Jules Verne) ,the screen display has to be viewed its difficult to describe but its like theres no screen at all it really is like paper, connecting to my wifi was a doddle and buying books thru the kindle is very quick(too easy to spend money!),I especially like the feature where you come across a word your not sure of and you can instantly find the definition, believe the hype this really is a neat gadget. 10/10
p.s also bought the lighted cover(burgundy),which is also great the light is nice and bright and illuminates the screen nicely handy for me as i have no bedside lamp.

I have had the K3 for 24 hours and it meets all my expectations - in fact, exceeds many. I do not need to go into detail about what it is and what it does as this has been covered very well already here. I have not had a single hitch in performance with Firmware 3.00 and in fact it is now running on 3.01. Amazon have created an amazing system for the Kindle with their book distribution 'Whispernet' and dedicated Kindle Amazon webpages. They have somewhat been a victim of their own success but the extended delivery period is well worth waiting through. They need to be congratulated for bringing all this to market and I wish them every success with it. I am sure it will do for books what the iPod did for music. Well done indeed Amazon !!

My KINDLE has just arrived and I am so excited.
I have downloaded books, which, when it says download in less than a minute is more like a few seconds to be completely honest!
It LOOKS small but, classy. The screen, I thought initially had some kind of cover over it as it looked so much like paper!
I know I'm going to appear to be raving here, or a plant maybe by the people selling it but, up to now, it's fantastic. i just KNOW my hubby's going to be ordering one ASAP.
As an avid reader, and someone who DOES love paper books, it's going to save me huge amounts of space in the house. We already have far too many bookshelves so, this is going to make life so much more streamlined. If I DO want a paper book, I can have checked it out beforehand on the KINDLE and if it's one that I might want to own on paper, I can be sure about it first.
I'm not going to say much more now. I'm just waiting for my husband to let me have a look at it!!!
