Got this for my son [almost 4] at Christmas, after the first 15 minutes of flying off the track he's got it sorted and regularly whoops me...Quality is very good, and these cars have the magnets to help keep them on the track, for £26 its a great toy. The track assembles well and the cars are durable with the usual cleaning of the brushes, spare brushes are included but we have not had to use them yet and its been used quite a bit since the big day.

JUST BUY IT!! I really, er, I mean, my boys really love it. This is set number 4 and it is joined to my, er, my boys other sets to make big track. It comes with THREE cars which is excellent value for money and loads of track.
So come on mums and dads, get yer hand in your purses / wallets and get it bought! You'll have, er, your kids will have hours of fun!

I purchased this product for my grandchildren ages 2 and 6. I had read that the micro scalextric was easier for little ones to handle. This was definitely the case. Even the two and a half year old got the hang of it very quickly. I hoped when I bought the set that all the family would be able to share in the fun and this proved to be so, with parents and grandparents having races with the little ones. Great fun and a highly recommended product!

I grew up with 1:32 Scalextric, so I was a bit wary of what the the smaller scale set would be like. However our house is a bit too small for anything much bigger than a boring oval 1:32 and anyway the much higher price is a bit of a risk for a wild 5-year-old and his wilder friends. We got it for Christmas and it's been used extensively every day since. Here's what I like:

- the cars have magnets so they grip like limpets. That means you can whiz round at incredible speeds. Not as skilful as the old sets, but much more fun for younger kids.

- The track is an extended 8 with one section that squeezes together so you can negotiate some crafty crashes.

- It's small enough to leave out and even fits on a large table

- You get 3 cars and you can use 2 cars on one track without any problem

- The cars have less detail than modern 1:32, but that also means that there's less to break. Ours have had a large number of max speed smashes and there's not a scratch on them.

- Controllers are full size and responsive for small and big hands.

Less good:

- The crash barriers are rubbish: they break easily and rub against the cars. The good news is that the car magnets provide so much grip that you don't need them.

- A bit too easy to drive - no need to slow down at corners

In summary - perfect slot-car track for younger children and those with limited space - excellent value.
